BIO
Bassi Maestro (Davide Bassi) became involved in music around the mid-1980s when he DJed everything from pop to house music. He became immersed in the Italian rap scene around 1988, rapping in English He with tunes like "Explicitin' the Facts" and "Art from the Heart."
Bassi recorded two demos with his first crew the Bullshit Squad before leaving for a solo career. He recorded two songs "Furia solista" and the acclaimed "Bastian contrario." Around 1994, he began collaborating with DJ Zeta, a member of the Codici Rosso. The following year, Bassi founded Mixmen Production and began cooking up various mix tapes, some with DJ Double S. Their album Contro gli estimatori was released on a small independent label formed with some members of Otierre (now called Gente Guasta).
After the Mixmen disbanded, Bassi and Zeta formed "Sano Business Enterprise" in 1996, a sort of underground production company, complete with a recording studio. He began working reguarly with Sottotono and in particular on their CD "Sotto Effetto Stono," as well as with groups like Lyricalz and their De Luxe CD and with Sab Sista on her debut album.
In 1997, Bassi released his solo CD Foto di gruppo on Sottotono's now defunct label Area Cronica.
The following year, Sano joined forces with DJ Hakeem of Brescia and the Cricca Dei Balordi, putting out the mini album Underground Troopers.
