BIO
Born in Lizzanello (Lecce province) in Apulia, DJ War is one the founding fathers of Italian hip hop. In the mid1980s, he and Gopher D created a music group called Subnoise that various styles of music, including rap and reggae.
Around this time, he moved to Bologna to study and soon feel into the centri sociali scene, in particular the historic Isola mel Kantiere and its all night jams known as the "Ghetto blaster."
In the summer of 1987, DJ War and Militant P formed the nucleus of the group Sud Sound System. After a extremely creative period for the groups the rap Italiano in general, DJ War lived the band in 1994.
DJ War increasingly began to explore "jungle" sound. He hascoloborated with thelikes of DJ Gruff, Nandu Popu, Don Tonino, Tsk, and Daniele De Rossi.
