BIO
La Fossa was born in 1996 as a result of the experiences of DJ and producer Wigsoo, who later joined up with Quilo to create the independent label Rhyme Racket. Together they produced the recording La Fossa, considered the first gangsta rap italiano. Their mini-CD included the song "Quando la troia succhia" (When the whore sucks). According to the group's web site, "All these ingredients makes La Fossa one of the most disturbing in the Italian rap scene perhaps because of the fear of their lyrics, which are at times reflective and relaxed but usually very explicit and at times also extremely violent!"
La Fossa switched labels after Quilo's departure. Wigsoo went on to start a new label called Ob.T Rec. (Obitorio Records), later re-christened Original Beat.
In 1998, La Fossa released the CD Around the Rionez, with the popular singles "Il giorno dopo" and "Al livello del mare." The group performed on Flaminio Maphia's first CD Italy's Most Wanted.
