Poeti del Quartiere (The Neighborhood Poets) resulted from the merging of three groups: Nati Poeti, Quartiere Compton, and Rap-A.U.A.
Formed by Esplosivo and Panico, I Nati Poeti broadcast a program of Italian Hip Hop on a local radio station in Bari from 1991-1994. They joined up with Cipresso's and Lesto's group Quartiere Compton, calling the new group N.P.Q.C. During this same time, Damaxx and FBI had created the group Rap-A.U.A. and were part of the staff of Radio Canale 91. In 1996, they joined up with the others and Poeti del Quartiere was born.
